Information we collect

We collect a few kinds of information, depending on how you use the site:

• Newsletter subscriptions. If you subscribe using the “Subscribe” box on this site, we collect your email address through Jetpack/WordPress.com’s subscription service so we can send you new posts and our weekly email.
• Comments. If you leave a comment, we store the name, email address, and website (if provided) you submit, along with your IP address, to help detect spam.
• Automatically collected data. Like most websites, we (via Jetpack Stats and Google Site Kit / Google Analytics) automatically log standard information such as your browser type, device, approximate location, referring site, and the pages you visit, using cookies and similar technologies.
• Contact form submissions. If you email us or use the contact page, we keep the information you send us so we can reply to you.

How we use it

We use this information to send the newsletter to people who asked for it, respond to messages, keep spam and abuse off the site, and understand which articles are useful so we can write more like them. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

Cookies

This site uses cookies set by WordPress.com/Jetpack (for core functionality, stats, and subscriptions), Google Site Kit (for analytics), and Akismet (for spam filtering on comments). You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; blocking them may affect how parts of the site work, such as staying logged in or the newsletter subscribe box.

Third-party services

everydaything.in is built on WordPress.com and uses Jetpack (hosting, security, stats, and the newsletter/subscription feature), Google Site Kit (analytics), and Akismet (comment spam protection). Each of these services may process data under its own privacy policy, in addition to this one.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email we send. You can ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, by emailing hello@everydaything.in. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act or the EU’s GDPR; we’ll honor reasonable requests made under those laws too.

Children’s privacy

everydaything.in is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy
